Job summary

Powerhouse Arts, Inc. in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Production Manager, Live Programs and Rentals to lead day-to-day planning, coordination, and execution of public programs, performances, exhibitions, private events, and venue rentals.

You will collaborate with artists, rental clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver productions safely, efficiently, and to the highest professional standards, reporting to the Director of Production.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in live event production or related environments.
• Proven ability to manage complex productions end-to-end.
• Strong knowledge of lighting, audio, video, rigging, and staging.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Experience supervising freelance crews and vendors.
• Ability to stay calm and solution-oriented in fast-paced settings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and scheduling tools.
• Experience with budgeting and cost tracking.
• Knowledge of safety standards (OSHA, FDNY, DOB).
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead production activity from load-in to load-out for assigned events.
• Coordinate freelance crews, vendors, and contractors.
• Manage schedules, staffing, and on-site safety.
• Collaborate with Lighting, Audio/Video, Operations, and Facilities teams.
• Maintain production paperwork and run-of-show documentation.
• Ensure on-budget production execution and post-event reporting.
• Oversee compliance with OSHA, FDNY, DOB, and venue regulations.
• Provide hands-on setup and breakdown support as needed.
