Job summary

The American Museum of Natural History in New York invites applications for a Senior Event Manager in the Convening and Event Services department. You will manage the lifecycle of complex internal and external events, collaborating with museum departments, caterers, production partners, and clients to ensure safety, hospitality, and operational excellence.

This role requires exceptional project management, strong financial acumen, and outstanding communication skills, plus the ability to mentor

Qualifications

• Five years experience in event operations, hospitality, venue management, conference services, or related field.
• Experience with CRM/Event Management software (Momentus).
• Experience with floor plan design software.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational planning and execution of complex events from turnover to reconciliation.
• Develop production schedules and manage event budgets, timelines, and vendors.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and mentorship to assigned Event Manager(s).

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, event management, or related field
