Job summary

Kahana Feld is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support our General Liability litigation team in California. You will work with attorneys to organize complex documents, manage case files, and assist with discovery and trial preparation in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and knowledge of PACER/ECF. Prior experience with e-discovery providers and California personal injury cases is highly valued.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of paralegal experience, preferably in California personal injury.
• Familiarity with online databases and resources.
• Knowledge of PACER and the federal Judiciary’s CM/ECF system.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with professional interactions.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and file management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Knowledge of third-party e-filing providers (One Legal, First Legal, Odyssey File & Serve, Green Filing) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Under attorney supervision, coordinate, organize, prepare, and interpret complex legal documents.
• Coordinate with attorneys and paralegal team to direct workflow on cases.
• Review, maintain documents and case files; compile documents for court filings and agencies.
• Conduct electronic document reviews and eDiscovery tasks; coordinate productions.
• Assist with drafting discovery pleadings and status reports.
• Organize and conduct case-related team meetings as needed.
• Review and draft summaries of discovery responses and records.
• Prepare and review materials for court hearings and depositions.
• Attend client meetings, conference calls, and other case meetings with attorneys.
• Conduct legal and factual research in internal and external databases.
• Review and process vendor invoices for accuracy.
• Coordinate and prepare for trials; attend trials and assist at hearings.
• Accurately document and bill for billable work; meet annual hours requirement.
• Communicate with filing clerks, court reporters, and calendar clerks.
• Liaise with outside vendors such as court reporters, experts, and mediators.
