LITIGATION PARALEGAL — PERSONAL INJURY & CIVIL LITIGATION

Edelstein Law, LLP | Center City Philadelphia

Full-time · On-site · Experience with Civil Litigation is Preferred

Help build strong cases. Make a meaningful difference for the people behind them.

Edelstein Law, LLP is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal who brings precision to case preparation, care to client communication, and a dependable, collaborative approach to every assignment.

Our Philadelphia firm represents individuals affected by personal injury, sexual abuse, motor vehicle accidents, and catastrophic injuries. These cases involve people facing significant physical, emotional, and financial challenges. We represent them with compassion, determination, and a commitment to securing fair compensation and accountability.

If you take pride in anticipating what a case needs, keeping complex matters organized, and helping clients feel informed and supported, we'd like to hear from you.

Your role

You will work closely with attorneys and staff throughout the litigation process, from initial case development and discovery through deposition and trial preparation. Your work will help attorneys stay prepared, move cases forward, and ensure clients receive attentive, professional service.

Responsibilities include:

  • Legal documents and court filings: Prepare, draft, format, and organize correspondence, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents under attorney supervision. Coordinate filings in accordance with applicable court rules and deadlines.
  • Discovery and case management: Maintain accurate case files; organize and review discovery materials; and track requests, responses, outstanding records, and follow-up tasks.
  • Research and case preparation: Conduct legal and factual research at attorneys' direction and prepare clear summaries to support drafting and case development.
  • Medical records and testimony: Obtain, organize, and summarize medical records and deposition transcripts, and identify key information for attorney review.
  • Calendaring and deadlines: Maintain case calendars, monitor scheduling orders, and coordinate deadlines, depositions, appointments, and other litigation events.
  • Client and professional communication: Communicate accurately, professionally, and with empathy with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other case participants.
  • Trial preparation: Assist with exhibits, witness lists, trial binders, and organizing materials needed for hearings and trial.
  • Team coordination: Keep attorneys and colleagues informed, flag outstanding issues, and follow through on assignments.

Required qualifications:

  • Strong legal document preparation and review skills, including experience drafting and formatting pleadings and motions.
  • Experience supporting discovery, litigation case management, legal research, and trial preparation.
  • Excellent written and verbal client communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Reader, plus familiarity with standard office applications and legal practice management software.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize competing assignments, and manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • A team-oriented, task-focused approach and consistent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Sound judgment in handling confidential information and the ability to work sensitively with clients affected by trauma or serious injuries.

Preferred qualifications:

  • A high school diploma, GED, Associate's/Bachelor's Degree, or certificate program in paralegal studies.
  • Knowledge of Pennsylvania and New Jersey court procedures.
  • Familiarity with state and federal electronic filing systems.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to substantive litigation work while supporting people during difficult periods in their lives. You will collaborate closely with attorneys and staff in a practice where thorough preparation, compassionate advocacy, and responsive client service are central.
