Job summary

Raines Feldman Littrell LLP seeks an experienced Labor & Employment Legal Assistant to provide high-level administrative and litigation support to attorneys in a fast-paced employment practice.

The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years of labor and employment and/or civil litigation experience, strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures, and exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of labor and employment and/or litigation legal assistant experience in a law firm.
  • Experience supporting employment litigation matters strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules, filing procedures, and litigation deadlines.
  • Familiarity with employment-related administrative agency procedures and deadlines preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work independently.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, revise, proofread, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, employment-related agreements, and other legal documents.
  • File documents electronically in state and federal courts, including California and other jurisdictions as needed.
  • Maintain attorney calendars, including court deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, trials, agency deadlines, and client meetings.
  • Assist with matters involving wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, employment agreements, and other employment-related disputes.
  • Coordinate filings and submissions with courts and administrative agencies, including the EEOC, DFEH/CRD, and other applicable agencies.
  • Coordinate service of process, court filings, courtesy copies, and messenger services.
  • Assist with discovery, including organizing, indexing, and preparing document productions.
  • Prepare deposition, mediation, arbitration, and trial binders and materials.
  • Coordinate with court reporters, expert witnesses, vendors, and outside counsel.
  • Monitor litigation and administrative deadlines and communicate upcoming deadlines to attorneys.

Raines Feldman Littrell LLP is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Legal Assistant to provide high-level administrative and litigation support to attorneys in a fast-paced employment practice. The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years of labor and employment and/or civil litigation experience, strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Labor & Employment / Litigation Support
  • Prepare, revise, proofread, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, employment-related agreements, and other legal documents.

Administrative Support
  • Manage attorney calendars, travel arrangements, and expense reimbursements.
  • Screen calls, schedule meetings, and coordinate conference rooms and Zoom meetings.
  • Open new matters and assist with conflicts and engagement letters as requested.
  • Prepare client correspondence and maintain electronic and physical case files.
  • Enter attorney time and assist with monthly billing and expense review.
  • Process client costs and reimbursements.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, government agencies, opposing counsel, and firm personnel.
  • Work collaboratively with paralegals, docketing, billing, and administrative staff.
  • Assist with deposition, hearing, arbitration, and trial preparation and provide onsite support as needed.
  • Support additional attorneys or special projects during periods of increased workload.
Qualifications
  • 5–8 years of labor and employment and/or litigation legal assistant experience in a law firm.
  • Experience supporting employment litigation matters strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules, filing procedures, and litigation deadlines.
  • Familiarity with employment-related administrative agency procedures and deadlines preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work independently.

Technical Skills
  • Document management systems (iManage or similar)
  • Electronic court filing systems (CM/ECF, File & Serve, PACER)

Education

Salary Range:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $90,000–$110,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic location. Employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
