Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare, revise, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence.
• Maintain case files and calendars, depositions, hearings, mediations and travel.
• Track court deadlines and support compliance with scheduling orders.
• Prepare exhibits, witness files, deposition materials, and trial binders.
• Enter attorney time, process expenses, and assist with billing.
• Communicate professionally with clients, courts, counsel, experts, and vendors.

Base pay depends on experience, location, and job-related qualifications. Bonus eligibility and benefits are subject to the employer’s applicable plans.

Base compensation: Hackensack: $60,000–$75,000. Dallas compensation to be discussed.

Work arrangement: Onsite in both locations.

Our agency is representing a national law firm seeking experienced litigation legal assistants to support attorneys handling civil litigation. This role suits someone who keeps busy calendars, filings, and case materials organized while providing responsive service to attorneys and clients.

What you will do

What you bring

• 3+ years of litigation legal assistant experience.
• Experience supporting multiple attorneys.
• Knowledge of New Jersey state and federal filing procedures for Hackensack or Texas procedures for Dallas.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong litigation terminology, document preparation, organization, and proofreading skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information and competing deadlines.
• Document management and legal practice technology experience preferred.
