First Chicago Insurance Company seeks an experienced Litigation Specialist to handle litigated and complex auto liability claims. You will manage investigations, draft letters, and coordinate with defense counsel and experts to reach appropriate settlements.

The role requires strong negotiation, legal terminology knowledge, and the ability to pass state licensing exams where required. Competitive benefits accompany a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

• College Degree and / or 5 years of applicable claims adjusting experience.
• Knowledge of legal and medical terminology.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass written examinations where required by state statutes to become a licensed claim adjuster.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation claims in accordance with established office procedures.
• Determine coverage and draft reservations of rights letters.
• Conduct prompt investigations by securing statements and obtaining documents (police reports, medical, photos, appraisals).
• Litigation Management including strategizing with defense counsel and experts on defense cases.
• Maintain an appropriate diary on all open files.
• Adhere to regulatory requirements and company policies; manage reserves and settlements.
