Job summary

Orion Placement in Texas is seeking a recent or newly licensed attorney to manage civil litigation matters from investigation through resolution. You will draft pleadings, conduct depositions, and participate in hearings, with direct client contact and collaboration with seasoned trial lawyers.

The role emphasizes growth in civil defense and personal injury litigation, mentorship, and a merit-based path with meaningful courtroom exposure. On-site in Waco, TX.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Texas.
• Newly licensed attorneys and candidates with up to 3 years of experience welcome.
• Interest in civil litigation, insurance defense, or personal injury litigation.
• Strong legal research, writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and build a successful litigation career.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support civil litigation cases from initial investigation through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Assist with trial preparation and gain opportunities to participate in jury trials.
• Work directly with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel.
• Analyze case evidence, medical records, and claims documentation.
• Collaborate with experienced trial attorneys to develop effective litigation strategies.
