Job summary

Peak Partners is seeking a Litigation Attorney in Maryland with 2–5 years of experience in complex commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have outstanding persuasive writing, strong attention to detail, and the ability to take ownership of cases on the litigation team.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice in Maryland or eligible to waive into the MD Bar.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in complex commercial litigation.
• Experience managing cases through discovery, motions, and trial preparation.
• Proficiency with legal research platforms and e-discovery tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute case strategies with senior attorneys.
• Manage all discovery phases including drafting, responding to written discovery, and coordinating e-discovery processes.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct and defend depositions, including witness preparation and analyzing testimony.
• Review potential evidence throughout discovery and trial.
• Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates.
• Assist with trial preparation and logistics.
• Serve as second chair in trials and arbitration hearings.

Peak Partners has a regional law firm client looking to hire a Litigation Attorney with 2-5 years of experience in complex commercial. An ideal candidate will have exceptionally strong persuasive writing skills, careful attention to detail, and the confidence and ability to take responsibility for each case on which they are part of the litigation team.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys.
• Manage all phases of discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery, overseeing document production, and coordinating e-discovery processes.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct and defend depositions, including preparing witnesses and analyzing testimony.
• Reviewing, investigating, and evaluating potential evidence throughout the discovery and trial process.
• Communicate directly with clients to gather information, provide case updates, and support strategic decision-making.
• Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit management, and coordination of trial logistics.
• Participate as second chair in trials and arbitration hearings, including direct and cross examinations of witnesses.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Maryland Bar or qualified to waive into the MD Bar.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in complex commercial litigation.
• Demonstrated experience handling complex litigation matters, including managing cases through discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Proficiency with legal research platforms and litigation technology, including e-discovery tools.
