Job summary

Crawford Thomas Recruiting is placing an experienced Litigation Associate in Boston to handle civil litigation matters from inception through resolution in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of civil litigation experience, strong writing and research skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases independently, while delivering exceptional service to clients and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of general civil litigation experience
  • Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and Municipal court procedures
  • Exceptional legal writing, research, and analytical skills
  • Strong oral advocacy and courtroom presentation abilities
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Ability to independently manage multiple cases and competing deadlines
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong judgment, initiative, and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

  • Manage civil litigation matters from initial filing through resolution
  • Develop legal strategies and case plans based on client objectives and applicable law
  • Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues
  • Manage multiple active cases while meeting court deadlines and client expectations
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery requests
  • Review evidence, case files, and supporting documentation
  • Ensure all filings comply with applicable court rules and procedural requirements
  • Represent clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and court proceedings
  • Negotiate settlements and communicate with opposing counsel
  • Prepare witnesses, exhibits, and litigation materials for hearings and trial
  • Advocate on behalf of clients while achieving favorable outcomes whenever possible

About The Opportunity

Our client, an established mid‑sized law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate to join its growing Boston office.


This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys managing complex civil litigation matters from inception through resolution while working in a collaborative, client‑focused environment.


The ideal candidate is a strong litigator with exceptional legal writing, courtroom experience, and the ability to independently manage multiple cases while delivering outstanding client service.


What You'll Do Litigation & Case Management


  • Manage civil litigation matters from initial filing through resolution

  • Develop legal strategies and case plans based on client objectives and applicable law

  • Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues

  • Manage multiple active cases while meeting court deadlines and client expectations


Pleadings & Discovery


  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents

  • Prepare and respond to written discovery requests

  • Review evidence, case files, and supporting documentation

  • Ensure all filings comply with applicable court rules and procedural requirements


Courtroom Advocacy


  • Represent clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and court proceedings

  • Negotiate settlements and communicate with opposing counsel

  • Prepare witnesses, exhibits, and litigation materials for hearings and trial

  • Advocate on behalf of clients while achieving favorable outcomes whenever possible


Client & Team Collaboration


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through proactive communication and exceptional service

  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff throughout the litigation process

  • Keep clients informed regarding case strategy, developments, and next steps

  • Maintain organized case files and ensure timely completion of all legal work


What You'll Bring

  • Portable book of business valued at $250,000+


Education & Licensure


  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Active Massachusetts Bar license in good standing
