The position supports iMTSS through evidence-based reading practices and targeted progress monitoring, focusing on students from historically underserved backgrounds. Continuation depends on grant funding.

Qualifications

  • Completion of at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education (48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours) or an Associate's Degree or higher in a related field.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to assist with struggling readers and students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver literacy intervention activities to individual students and small groups in Tier 2 and Tier 3.
  • Reinforce literacy skills using approved intervention programs (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, reading comprehension).
  • Support MTSS/iMTSS implementation with district-approved interventions and progress monitoring.
  • Administer literacy screenings, progress-monitoring, and intervention assessments.
  • Maintain records of student participation and progress-monitoring data.
  • Collaborate with reading specialists and teachers to inform instructional decisions.
  • Foster positive relationships to motivate reading growth and ensure student engagement.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and comply with Title I/SSI requirements.
