Job summary

Stillwater Area Public Schools seeks a Building Literacy Lead to support Science of Reading implementation and onboarding of new literacy curriculum (Elementary). The role ensures educators receive guidance, resources, and PD to align with evidence-based literacy strategies, serving as liaison between district, principal, and school staff.

Qualifications

  • Certified educator with a strong background in literacy instruction.
  • Read Act Certified (elementary) and ELA background (secondary).
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators at various levels.
  • Experience analyzing and utilizing literacy data to drive instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Implementation Support: align new literacy practices with district/state standards.
  • Professional Development & Coaching: provide ongoing district-supported PD and model lessons.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between school leadership and the District Literacy Lead.
  • Facilitate conversations with grade-level teams on literacy data, challenges, and successes.
  • Share district updates, resources and best practices with principals and staff.
  • Data Analysis & Progress Monitoring: analyze literacy data to inform instruction and track progress.
