The Building Literacy Lead at Stillwater Area Public Schools will support the implementation of Science of Reading practices and onboarding of new literacy curriculum for elementary students. The role ensures educators receive guidance, resources, and professional development to align instructional practices with evidence-based literacy strategies, acting as liaison between the district and school staff.

Qualifications

• Certified educator with a strong background in literacy instruction.
• Read Act Certified (elementary) and ELA background (secondary).
• Strong leadership, coaching, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators at various levels.
• Experience analyzing and utilizing literacy data to drive instruction.

Responsabilités

• Provide implementation support for new literacy practices aligned with district and state standards.
• Deliver ongoing professional learning opportunities and model lessons.
• Coach teachers and support PLCs focused on literacy strategies and curriculum implementation.
• Serve as liaison between school leadership and the District Literacy Lead.
• Facilitate conversations with grade-level teams to discuss literacy data, challenges, and successes.
• Share district updates, resources, and best practices with their principal and collaborate on training and implementation with school staff.
• Analyze student literacy data to inform instructional decisions.
• Monitor the effectiveness of literacy interventions and adjust as needed.
• Contribute to school-wide literacy initiatives and assessments to track progress and outcomes.
