Job summary

Qualifications

• Earned master's degree with a focus on literacy or reading education (non-tenure track) or PhD or equivalent with a focus on literacy or reading education.
• Knowledge of current research in the field of literacy education.
• PreK-grade 6 public and/or private school teaching experience in the United States.
• Previous college teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses with a primary focus on PreK–grade 6 literacy education; courses offered in-person or online.
• Advise undergraduate and graduate students and serve as academic advisor.
• Direct the Reading Specialization graduate program and coordinate the Summer Reading Clinic, with potential teaching load adjustments or supplemental pay.
• Utilize Blackboard and Anthology Portfolio for instruction, recordkeeping, and data collection.
• Maintain regular office hours and mentor students; collaborate across campus on department initiatives.
• Engage in scholarship or professional development; contribute to service within the department and college.
