Job summary
Towson University in Towson, MD invites applications for a tenure-track, 9-month Assistant Professor position in the Department of Elementary Education. The appointee will teach and supervise undergraduate and graduate literacy courses and contribute to reading instruction, assessment, and multilingual learner support.
Required is a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction or related field (ABD considered; completion by Aug 1, 2027).
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction or related field; ABD considered with completion by August 1, 2027.
- Commitment to teaching with teacher candidates and novice teachers; expertise in elementary literacy curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Experience supporting multilingual learners and/or urban schools; strong research agenda and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Teaching and supervising 6 course units (18 credits) over a 9-month academic year in literacy courses.
- Development/continuation of a focused area of research, including publications and presentations.
- Active service at department, college, university, community and professional levels.
