Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a Laboratory Information System (LIS) Specialist to ensure the LIS operates efficiently and to support related activities. You will build new test modalities, implement system upgrades, and troubleshoot software and hardware issues affecting LIS and instruments.

You will maintain knowledge of hospital information systems, assist the Director with process improvements, and educate internal laboratory departments and external teams on LIS usage.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in medical technology or related field is required.
• 1–3 years' experience in a computerized medical laboratory is required.
• Epic or other LIS system training is expected.
• ASCP or AMT certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Laboratory Information System (LIS) effectively and efficiently.
• Build new test modalities and implement system upgrades and interfaces.
• Troubleshoot software, hardware, and instrument error messages.
• Maintain knowledge of hospital information systems and their relationships.
• Assist the Director with process improvement and decision-making.
• Educate and serve as LIS resource for internal and external departments.

Education

Associates Degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences or related field

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences or related field
