Job summary

CBRE Laboratory Instrument Services Sr.Technician is responsible for calibrating, maintaining, and performing major repairs on scientific instrumentation. This role sits within the Critical and Technical Services function and supports client environments.

You will disassemble and inspect equipment, operate test instruments, coordinate major repairs, and document maintenance activities to ensure peak performance and reliability.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 2–3 years of related experience.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements (stooping, standing, lifting 50 lbs).
  • Proficient in using standard procedures to solve problems and make judgments.
  • Strong MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, inspect, clean, repair, calibrate parts and equipment.
  • Operate test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and frequency generators.
  • Coordinate removal and scheduling for major repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and perform unscheduled maintenance when needed.
  • Document abnormal conditions and start corrective actions as required.
  • Record daily maintenance activities and maintain calibration procedures.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and communicate with clients about equipment calibration and repair.

We partner withpharmaceutical and biotech companies, healthcare, food and beverage producers,automotive and tooling innovators, and both contract research organizations(CROs) and contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) to keep their operationsrunning at peak performance.

About the Role

As a CBRE Laboratory Instrument Services Sr.Technician, you will calibrate, maintain, and complete the major repairs of scientific instrumentation.

Thisjob is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. They areresponsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments.

What You’ll Do
  • Takeapart, examine, clean, fix, calibrate, check, and take care of specialequipment, systems, and controls.
  • Operatetest equipment. This includes multimeters, frequency generators, and counters,galvanometers, digital logic probes, and oscilloscopes.
  • Coordinatethe removal of equipment requiring extensive repairs during scheduledmaintenance periods.
  • Troubleshoot,service or resolve problems while performing unscheduled work.
  • Recordand report abnormal functions or out-of-tolerance conditions of equipment. Ifneeded, start corrective action and documentation.
  • Reviewand document daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, andother work performed.
  • Coordinatewith external contractors on repairs covered by maintenance agreements.Communicate with customer staff and outside contractors about the calibration,repair, and operation of equipment.
  • Locatepart sources, estimate costs, and prepare requisitions.
  • Trackinstrument and part reliability; make alternate service, supplier, and partsrecommendations.
  • Overseethe development of equipment, maintenance, and calibration procedures.
  • Havesome knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience inapplying them.
  • Leadby example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.

  • Workwithin standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meetdeadlines.

What You’ll Need
  • HighSchool Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 2-3 years of job-relatedexperience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and educationwill be considered. Must have appropriate license or certification whererequired by law.
  • Meetthe physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking,climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs.or more.
  • Abilityto use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
  • Experiencewith analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
  • In-depthknowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook,etc.
  • Organizationalskills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
  • Intermediatemath skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages,fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
