Job summary

Persistent Systems, LLC seeks a Linux Systems Administrator for its NYC headquarters. You will ensure Linux servers run optimally, solve complex problems, and collaborate across IT teams on system design and maintenance.

The role requires a bachelor’s in CS or related field, 6+ years’ Linux admin experience, and familiarity with networking and automation tools. Preferred: Master’s, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Proficiency with Bash, Python, or UNIX scripting with automation focus.
• Minimum of 6 years of systems administration experience in IT.
• Experience in a Linux environment as a system administrator.
• Familiarity with basic networking and configuration management tools.
• Must have a US Security Clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and workstations.
• Provide technical support for network issues and IT problems.
• Collaborate to resolve IT issues and design integrated systems.
• Test hardware and software performance; monitor systems and ensure availability.
• Back up data and manage file systems and storage as per best practices.
• Create and manage user accounts; handle asset management for staff.
• Provide help desk support and resolve end-user issues.
