Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, implement, and maintain Linux system software in C/C++, delivering high throughput and fault tolerance within the Corporate Sector, Employee Platforms teams.

You will debug across the stack, contribute to GUI components, ensure robust device connectivity, and apply Agile practices with AI-assisted development tools to produce scalable, production-ready software while collaborating with engineering, QA, product, and platform groups.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Working knowledge of C/C++ in Linux environment.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
• Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle.
• Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Linux system software in C/C++, prioritizing performance and stability.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues across the stack with root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to WebKit-based GUI capabilities and ensure robust integration with underlying services.
• Integrate and troubleshoot device connectivity involving peripherals and I/O interfaces.
• Apply Agile SDLC practices, including iterative delivery, code review, automated testing, and CI.
• Maintain tooling and automation to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Collaborate across engineering, QA, product, and platform teams to align requirements and surface risks.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve automation and efficiency.
