Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, implement, and maintain Linux system software in C/C++ within the Corporate Sector, Employee Platforms teams. The role emphasizes high throughput, low latency, and fault tolerance in a critical runtime environment.

You will diagnose complex issues, contribute to WebKit-based GUI, and collaborate across engineering, QA, product, and platform teams to deliver reliable, production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Working knowledge of C/C++ in Linux environment.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
• Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
• Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Linux system software in C/C++, prioritizing performance, stability, and recoverability in a critical runtime environment.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues across the stack using advanced debugging and profiling techniques, with root-cause analysis and performance improvements.
• Contribute to WebKit-based GUI capabilities and ensure robust integration with underlying system services.
• Integrate and troubleshoot device connectivity involving common computer peripherals and I/O interfaces.
• Apply Agile SDLC practices, including iterative delivery, code review, automated testing, and continuous integration.
• Maintain tooling and automation to improve code quality and delivery speed while ensuring maintainability and testability.
• Collaborate across engineering, QA, product, and adjacent platform teams to surface risks early and deliver predictable outcomes.
• Utilize tools within the SDLC toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities.
