Job summary

Lansing Community College is seeking a Lineworker Adjunct Instructor to deliver hands-on training in climbing, construction, and maintenance of electrical lines in both lab and classroom settings.

The successful candidate will adapt teaching to student learning styles, collaborate with colleagues, and enforce safety guidelines to maintain an optimal learning environment. Regular on-campus presence is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field with 2 years minimum experience in the field or
• Associate’s Degree in a related field with 5 years minimum experience in the field or
• Journey or Master’s license (apprenticeship) with 5 years minimum experience in the field
• Certificate in a related field with 6 years minimum experience in the field or
• HS diploma/GED with 7 years minimum experience in the field

Responsibilities

• Teach various Lineworker classes in lab and classroom settings, including climbing, construction, and maintenance of electrical lines.
• Demonstrate technical skills and ensure a safe, positive learning environment for diverse students.
• Collaborate with students and peers to foster a constructive learning atmosphere and safety compliance.
• Maintain knowledge of regulations such as OSHA and NESC and apply them to instruction.

Education

Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of field experience

Associate’s Degree plus 5 years of field experience

Journey or Master’s license (apprenticeship) plus 5 years

Certificate in related field plus 6 years

HS diploma/GED plus 7 years
