Job summary

Lansing Community College’s Great Lakes Center for Utility Training seeks a Full-Time Assistant Professor to teach Electrical Utility/Lineworker Technology. The position covers classroom and lab instruction, focusing on climbing, construction, and maintenance of electrical lines with a strong safety focus.

This temporary/limited-duration appointment requires collaboration with faculty and participation in program development.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related field with relevant experience.
Multiple pathways: Associate’s Degree plus 5+ years, Journeyman license plus 5+ years, or similar credentials with 5+ years.
Licensure/certifications such as Journeyman or Master’s license may be required or preferred.
High school diploma with 7+ years of field experience accepted in some pathways.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality instruction in electrical utility linework and related courses.
Lead classroom and lab activities with emphasis on climbing, construction, and maintenance while prioritizing safety.
Participate in curriculum development, course coordination, and program improvement efforts.
Collaborate with faculty and college committees to advance student outcomes and program goals.
