Job summary

Apple Rehab Cromwell is seeking a dedicated Laundry Aide to support residents and maintain clean linens in our 74-bed skilled nursing community in Central Connecticut.

You will operate laundry equipment, sort soiled linen, follow sanitation procedures, and ensure a safe, orderly work area for the team and residents.

Previous healthcare experience is preferred; this role offers a benefit package for employees working 30 hours or more.

Qualifications

• Ability to read labels and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to read and understand labels and safety instructions and other department policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates cooperation in assisting others and ability to work as a team.
• Patience, tact, enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward the residents and their support networks.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and to take appropriate actions.
• Ability to visually assess all aspects of laundry department.
• Ability to distinguish smells and temperatures and to hear and respond to pages.
• Ability to walk, reach, bend, lift, grasp, pull, stretch, stoop and have fine hand coordination.
• Ability to lift and carry laundry bags of approximately 40 pounds, stock shelves and laundry carts, push carts and climb stairs.

Responsibilities

• The Laundry Aide provides quality laundry services to all facility residents.
• Operates all laundry equipment, washes, dries, folds and distributes clean linen and personal clothing.
• Maintains a clean, orderly work area and department and ensures adequate linen supply.
• Follows Universal Precautions and safety rules, reporting accidents or hazards as required.
