Job summary

Apple Rehab Cromwell is seeking a Laundry Aide to provide quality laundry services for residents in a 74-bed skilled nursing community in Central Connecticut. The role includes sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing clean linen, while maintaining cleanliness and safety in the department.

Ideal candidates will read labels in English, work effectively in a team, and follow universal precautions and facility policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to read labels and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to read and understand labels and safety instructions and other department policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates cooperation and ability to work as a team.
• Patience, tact, enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward residents and their support networks.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and to take appropriate actions.

Responsibilities

• Operates laundry equipment to wash, dry, fold and distribute clean linen and personal clothing.
• Maintains a clean, orderly work area and department; sets up carts and closets with supplies.
• Inspects linen for wear and flags items for replacement; follows universal precautions and safety rules.
