Job summary

Black & Veatch Family of Companies is seeking an experienced lineman helper to assist with installation and repair of electrical distribution systems. The role involves climbing poles or using bucket trucks, reading diagrams, and following safety protocols to ensure reliable service on project sites.

Minimum qualifications include 4000 documented hours and a DOL-approved lineman apprenticeship, plus NCCER Core Curriculum or equivalent craft training.

Qualifications

• 4000 documented hours and proven DOL approved lineman apprentice program participation.
• Developing knowledge of installation or repair of cables or wires used in electrical power or distribution systems and transmission towers and lines.
• Must have all necessary tools (see Lineman helper tool list).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation or repair of cables or wires in electrical power or distribution systems.
• Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment.
• Prepare work sites and coordinate with other workers on the job.
• Ensure safety protocols and PPE are followed at all times.
• Use hand and power tools to install, test, and repair components.
