Job summary

Chain Electric Company is seeking an entry-level Apprentice Lineman to safely perform skilled electrical work on distribution systems, both overhead and underground, including storms restoration. You will learn and apply standard trade practices while possibly supervising ground staff and other apprentices as you progress toward journeyman status.

Qualifications

Minimum one year experience in groundman and lineman work.
Ability to travel at a moment’s notice, anytime.
Available to work irregular hours, weekends and holidays, as needed.
Possess at minimum a valid CDL-B license.
Possess your own tools.
Ability to handle physically demanding construction duties in harsh weather conditions.
Ability to read and follow instructions.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Ability to hear long distances.
Must be able to see long distances and differentiate between colors and have clear depth perception.

Responsibilities

Safely construct, maintain, and repair electrical overhead and underground distribution systems and substations.
Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment and work at heights.
Dig holes and set poles, using cranes and power equipment.
Splice or solder cables and splice conductors.
Lay underground cables and string line between structures.
