Job summary

Pike Corporation in Georgia is seeking a Groundman to join our line construction team. You will assist with building, repairing and maintaining overhead electrical distribution systems under the supervision of a foreman.

This role requires physical stamina, a willingness to travel, and a commitment to safety while working outdoors in diverse weather. On‑call rotations and weekend/overtime work are expected. Pike offers competitive benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Demonstrated safety awareness and ability to follow PPE protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist crews in constructing, repairing and maintaining overhead distribution systems.
• Help install and repair overhead power lines, poles, insulators, conductors and hardware.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions and adverse weather.
• Be available for outages, storms and emergencies including on‑call rotation.
• Follow safety protocols and PPE guidance.
• Inspect PPE and understand proper usage.
• Perform rigorous physical labor as part of daily duties.
