Sysco Illinois is seeking a driven tractor-trailer driver to safely transport products from the warehouse to customer locations, following invoices and company standards. This long-haul Linehaul role travels to PA, FL, OH and other states, with 2–3 day trips.

Requirements include a High school diploma/GED, 1 year tractor-trailer experience preferred and a valid Class A CDL. DOT regulations, safety, and English communications are essential. Overnight schedules and weekends are common.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree, plus 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred.
• Completion of a tractor-trailer driving school will be accepted instead of, or in addition to a high school diploma.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• Must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of initial and continued employment.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: DOT regulations; Hazmat guidelines; Safe lifting and delivery practices
• Driving over long distances, on varied terrains and in varying weather; communicating with customers; solving problems; delivering the product
• Ability to drive a tractor-trailer day and night in varying traffic and weather; stay alert
• Meet or exceed minimum productivity levels; operate equipment listed
• Operate a 3 axle tractor, 45' - 48' trailer, straight truck, onboard computer; read/write English related to job and safety
• Perform basic math and plan/organize work independently

Responsabilités

• Safely transports product from the warehouse to the customer location and ensures timely delivery, per route requirements.
• Loads/unloads as specified; maintains DOT logs and trip documentation; ensures invoices match bill of ladings.
• Ensures food safety protocols are met; maintains proper temperatures in the delivery vehicle.
• Adheres to approved work methods; reports unsafe conditions to management.
• Operates and maintains all assigned equipment; interacts professionally with customers.
• Communicates route or loading issues to management; escalates product or customer concerns as needed.
• Works assigned schedule and may work outside usual hours to meet customer needs; maintains attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
