Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking two Line Servicer positions at the Belmont Office & Service Building in St. Clairsville, OH. The role builds on Line Mechanic A duties, encompassing installation, maintenance and inspection of aerial and underground lines, plus trouble response and restoration.

You will handle trouble calls, inspect lines, perform switching and coordinate with emergency services to restore service efficiently. A valid Class A CDL and residence within 30 miles are required.

Qualifications

• Experience as Line Mechanic A/Lineman A or equivalent and ability to demonstrate qualifications.
• Ability to analyze trouble calls, inspect lines and locate faults.
• Strong communication with customers and emergency services.

Responsibilities

• Analyze trouble calls and take corrective action on transmission and distribution circuits.
• Investigate trouble calls; patrol lines; locate, clear and repair faults.
• Install and remove transformers, meters, services and switchgear as needed.
• Coordinate circuit switching and restoration after trouble calls.
• Work on energized lines during emergencies and routine maintenance.
• Interface with emergency responders to restore service safely.
