Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years as Line Mechanic A or Lineman A or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Physical abilities assessment required.
• Must live within 30 miles of Belmont Office.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and take corrective action on trouble calls for transmission and distribution circuits and equipment.
• Inspect lines; locate, clear and repair faults; install and remove transformers, meters, and services.
• Coordinate circuit switching and restoration of service after trouble calls.
• Work with hot line equipment on energized circuits for emergency repairs or routine maintenance.
• Interface with emergency forces to accomplish safe trouble call restoration.
• Communicate with customers and inform if trouble is in customer wiring or equipment.
• Operate and maintain residential, commercial and industrial facilities, overhead and underground.
• Disconnect and connect meters; read meters and operate line switches.
• Direct the work of employees assigned to assist.
