AEP is seeking a Line Mechanic D to perform installation, maintenance, operation and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities. Work covers overhead and underground systems, with progression through lines and safety training.

The incumbent may be required to reside within 45 minutes of the Charleston, WV service center and complete a HireVue assessment. The position involves climbing, rigging, equipment operation under supervision, and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Must reside within 45 mins of the North Charleston Service Center (404 29th St. W Charleston, WV 25635).
• Complies with HireVue Line Worker assessment requirements and related pre-employment steps.

Responsabilités

• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and inspection of overhead and underground transmission and distribution facilities.
• Operate, load and unload poles, towers and structures under supervision as needed.
• Demonstrate safety and proper use of PPE and tools while performing ground person duties.
• Perform ground and pole work safely, including climbing and working on de-energized conductors.
• Record readings and maintain logs and reports as required.
