Job summary

AEP in Newark, OH seeks a Line Mechanic C to install, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution facilities on overhead and underground lines. Qualifications

• Minimum of one year distribution electrical power line work experience, OR one year of related line experience as defined in the posting.
• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must have the ability to relocate within 30 miles of the Newark Service Center.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, maintain, remove and inspect overhead and underground facilities including conductors, cables and transformers.
• Build and erect equipment mountings and perform switching of energized circuits under supervision as skill level dictates.
• Direct and supervise assigned personnel, perform test, de-energize and ground URD cable, and troubleshoot line equipment.
• Progress through classification steps from C to A while maintaining safety and compliance.
