Job summary

AEP in Canton, Ohio is seeking a Line Mechanic C to join its transmission and distribution team. The role builds on Line Mechanic D experience and may require progression through the C levels, focusing on installing, maintaining, and inspecting overhead and underground facilities and equipment.

CDL Class A is required, and candidates must be able to operate under supervision with safety and quality in mind.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of distribution electrical power line work or related training.
• Completion of apprentice lineman training or certification preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Class A CDL.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, maintain and inspect overhead and underground facilities.
• Test, de-energize and ground URD cable, splice and terminate as required.
• Progress through line classifications under supervision and safety guidelines.
