American Electric Power in Canton, Ohio is seeking qualified Line Mechanic C-A candidates for a long‑term talent pipeline. The role covers installation, maintenance and inspection of overhead and underground facilities, with progression from Line Mechanic C to A as skills are demonstrated.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid Class A CDL, and experience in distribution power line work or equivalent. Relocation to the Canton area may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate degree from an electrical power line school with internship or distribution experience.
• Shall have performed the duties of and have all the qualifications of Line Mechanic D or the equivalent.

Responsabilités

• Assemble, install, maintain, remove and inspect overhead and underground facilities.
• Test, de-energize and ground URD cable and troubleshoot equipment.
• Direct the work of employees assigned to assist.

Formation

Associate degree from an electrical power line school which includes a minimum of 16 weeks internship or distribution electrical power line experience.
