Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Line Haul Supervisor to oversee the line haul operations, drive on-time delivery, and mentor drivers. You will supervise, allocate tasks, and partner with center leadership to meet safety, quality, and efficiency goals.

The role requires strong leadership, knowledge of fleet operations, and a focus on continuous improvement. OD emphasizes a family culture and opportunities for advancement within its 260+ service centers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2 years working operations experience preferably in the transportation industry.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of AS400, Microsoft Office, DYMS and BLU systems.
• Knowledge of general DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and evaluates safety of each employee daily; trains on safety processes as needed.
• Monitors service center lanes to ensure freight reaches centers for timely cross docking.
• Trains and mentors drivers to improve performance and on-time delivery.
• Directly manages drivers to ensure proper utilization and development of team members.
• Collaborates with Operations Manager, Central Dispatch and Service Center Manager to meet daily/weekly/monthly targets.
• Provides training and feedback on RPM, speed, and idle scores.
