Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Operations Manager to guide and direct supervisors and staff, ensuring efficient daily operations and effective load planning. The role includes hiring hourly staff, coordinating dock and driver activities, and driving claims prevention and training initiatives.

Prospects will lead safety discussions, monitor performance, and strive to meet company goals while fostering OD's Family Spirit and growth opportunities within 250+ service centers.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in driver supervision or operations.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations and related safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Staff to goal to meet workload volume and service targets.
• Provide direct leadership to service center supervisory staff.
• Manage daily operations and ensure maximum service center efficiency.
• Focus on load plans from origin and monitor cause and effect.
• Conduct safety and claims meetings with all staff.
• Develop and coach service center staff for growth.
• Achieve and maintain company and service center goals.
• Monitor supervisor performance and provide feedback.
