Job summary

The Ruby Slipper Cafe is hiring a Kitchen Prep/Krewe member to accurately and efficiently prepare hot food items and portion ingredients before cooking. You will assist with plating, garnishes, and ensuring dishes meet our standards in a fast-paced brunch environment.

Candidates should have at least one year of kitchen experience, be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and communicate clearly with managers and team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
• Ability to follow recipes and Ruby Standards.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
• Good communication with managers and team.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods (up to 10 hours).

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently prepare hot food products and portion ingredients prior to cooking.
• Assist with plating and garnishing of cooked items and prepare garnishes for hot menu items.
• Follow established recipes and portion sizes to maintain quality.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitary standards.

Job Summary:

Accurately and efficiently prepare hot food products as well as prepare and portion food prior to cooking. Responsible for performing other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates.

• Able to follow Ruby Standards and recipes consistently - responsible for the quality of products served
• Complies with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and front of house krewe members
• Be able to reach, bend stoop, and frequently lift up to 50lbs
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
