Job summary

The Ruby Slipper Cafe is seeking a dedicated kitchen teammate to accurately and efficiently prepare hot foods and portion items before cooking. You will assist with plating and garnishing to ensure high-quality presentations.

Responsibilities include preparing garnishes, maintaining clean work areas, and following the restaurant's standards for portion sizes and cooking methods. This role emphasizes teamwork and consistency in a fast-paced brunch environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and front-of-house krewe members.
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50lbs.
• Be able to stand for long periods (up to 10 hours).

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently prepare hot food products and portion items before cooking.
• Prepare appropriate garnishes and plate prepared items.
• Assist with final plate garnishing and general kitchen duties.

Job Summary:

Accurately and efficiently prepare hot food products as well as prepare and portion food prior to cooking. Responsible for performing other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates.

• Able to follow Ruby Standards and recipes consistently - responsible for the quality of products served
• Complies with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and front of house krewe members
• Be able to reach, bend stoop, and frequently lift up to 50lbs
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
