Job summary

Southerleigh Hospitality Group is seeking an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team. You will prepare and cook a variety of dishes for restaurant guests, focusing on quality and consistency.

The ideal candidate has prior cooking experience and a ServeSafe or Food Handler's certification (or willingness to obtain one). Weekend availability is required, and you should be able to stand for long periods and lift 30+ lbs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a restaurant cook preferred.
• ServeSafe or Food Handler's certification (or willingness to attain).
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to lift 30+ lbs.
• Ability to stand for 8+ hours.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and clean food preparation areas to ensure safe handling practices.
• Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking quality and rotating stock.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures to cook food properly.
• Season and cook food according to recipes or experience.
• Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.
• Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism.
