Job summary

Ditka's Restaurant Group in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a reliable Line Cook to maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen and uphold our recipes, plate presentations, and quality standards. You will prepare and serve all items according to our recipes and specifications, while supporting cost control and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications include at least 1 year as a line cook in a similar restaurant concept, basic English (Spanish helpful), and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience working as Line Cook in a similar restaurant concept.
• Ability to read and understand recipes and procedures for proper preparation of all food items.
• English and Spanish language ability helpful for communication and reading recipes written in English.
• Additional culinary education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes the work area before, during, and after shift.
• Practices sanitary and safe food handling at all times.
• Sets up work station for maximum productivity and efficiency per company guidelines.
• Prepares all food according to the Company’s recipes, plate presentations, and specifications.
• Enforces all cost control requirements within his/her control.
• Adheres to all food cost control systems – ‘NO TICKET, NO FOOD’, proper portions and discuss with management about product out of date.
• Prioritize tasks to maximize use of time.
• Date, label, and rotate all products as prescribed.
• Assists in cleanliness, maintenance, and organization of back-of-house storage areas.
• Completes all assigned prep work within timelines and completes daily/weekly cleaning projects.
