Job summary

Ditka's Restaurant Group in Wheaton, IL, is seeking a Line Cook to maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen and ensure every dish adheres to our recipes and specifications. You will set up stations, manage prep and plating, and support cost-control practices while delivering quality meals.

The role requires at least 1 year of line cook experience, ability to read English recipes, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Able to read and understand recipes and procedures for the proper preparation of all food items.
• Capable of using knives, slicing equipment, and other food preparation equipment safely.
• Teamwork and positive attitude to foster cooperation in a restaurant environment.
• Additional culinary education is preferred.
• Must be able to read English; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes the work area before, during, and after shift.
• Practices sanitary and safe food handling at all times.
• Sets up work station for maximum productivity and efficiency.
• Prepares all food according to the Company’s recipes, plate presentations, and specifications.
• Enforces all cost control requirements within his/her control.
• Adheres to all food cost control systems.
• Prioritize tasks to maximize time.
• Maintains product quality and presentation standards.
• Completes assigned prep work and cleaning projects within timelines.
