Hippo Cafe Italian Nights is seeking a Line Chef to bring authentic Italian cuisine to life in a fast-paced, full‑service restaurant. You’ll prepare scratch-made dishes as part of a close-knit kitchen team, developing your skills in a quality-driven hospitality environment.

We value strong teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work evenings and weekends. Training is provided for sauté line specialists, with opportunities to grow across all kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience as a line cook in an Italian kitchen, or strong proficiency with sauté line cooking.
• Solid culinary skills and familiarity with professional kitchen equipment and Italian cooking techniques.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently and maintain composure in a high-pressure restaurant environment.
• Strong attention to detail for quality, consistency, and plating.
• Food Safety Certification (ServSafe or equivalent preferred).

Responsibilities

• Kitchen Operations: Work as an integral part of our kitchen team, mastering every station needed to produce our scratch Italian menu items.
• Food Preparation & Quality Control: Execute high-quality sautéed and baked menu items to order, ensuring every dish meets our standards for taste and presentation.
• Line Cooking & Expedite Service: Manage multiple orders simultaneously during busy service periods, maintaining speed and consistency in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Menu Prep: Assist with prepping ingredients and menu items to keep the kitchen running smoothly and efficiently.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols to ensure a clean and safe workspace.
