Job summary

Evans Hotels’ The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, CA, is seeking an entry-level Line Cook III. You will prepare all menu items at your station with care, uphold recipe standards, and contribute to a high-caliber culinary team.

This full-time position offers steady day/evening shifts, competitive hourly pay of $27.15, and benefits including meals, parking, room discounts for you and your family, and health and retirement options.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of relevant experience and/or training.
• Prior experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment preferred.
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
• Must attain a San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire (training provided).
• Ability to maintain a friendly, professional demeanor under stress or challenges.
• Stand, kneel, or squat for prolonged periods; lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that quality is never compromised and service never delayed.
• Maintains fresh, organized mis en place at all times to ensure the highest level of cookery.
• Assists other cooks in achieving goals, fostering teamwork and camaraderie.
• Prepares and presents menu items in specific station (line).
• Maintains cleanliness in accordance with Health Department and hotel standards.
• Prepares entrees according to restaurant standards by following recipes and techniques.
• Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
• Rotates stock to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
• Regular and predictable attendance for scheduled shifts.
• Performs additional duties as directed by leadership.
