Job summary

Hornblower Corp is seeking a Cook II to join our vessel-based culinary team. The role focuses on food preparation, safe handling of provisions, and delivering hospitality to guests and crew aboard a Coast Guard-inspected passenger vessel.

You will work with sous chefs and line cooks to follow recipes, manage orders in a fast-paced galley, and uphold strict sanitation and appearance standards while supporting ongoing skill development.

Qualifications

  • Two years of kitchen experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic personality essential.
  • Service orientation—actively helping others.
  • Must work extended periods without sitting; able to lift items.
  • Work may be strenuous; warm environment; holidays availability.
  • Must meet minimum state age requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional hospitality to coworkers and guests as prescribed in our RSS.
  • Collaborate with culinary team to ensure precise, efficient food preparation per recipes.
  • Work in a fast-paced kitchen, manage multiple orders with established cooking times.
  • Maintain detail in all food prep to meet quality and taste standards.
  • Store provisions properly, cover, label, date, and store leftovers per standards.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations; keep workspace clean.
  • Pursue skill development, learn from teammates to improve techniques.
  • Maintain uniform and grooming per appearance standards.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
