Job summary

Front Porch Communities & Services’ Canterbury Woods Retirement Community in Pacific Grove, CA is seeking a Line Cook under the supervision of the Director of Dining Services or Executive Chef. You will prepare meals for residents and staff, work 7am–3:30pm, Monday through Friday, in a full-time role.

Responsibilities include cooking with various kitchen equipment, ensuring consistency with portion sizes and quality, and maintaining clean, safe work areas in a busy dining operation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Food Handlers’ certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other items for cooking.
• Cook items using broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment.
• Maintain quality and portion sizes according to standards and recipes.
• Keep work stations clean and sanitary; follow safety and health guidelines.
• Stock and rotate food products at line stations to ensure smooth service.
• Assist in food prep during off-peak periods as needed.
