Job summary

Landmark Hotel Group is seeking a Line Cook for the Comfort Inn On The Ocean in Kill Devil Hills, NC. The role requires one year of hotel or full-service restaurant line cook experience and the ability to obtain a Food Handling and Sanitation Certification within four weeks.

You will help maintain kitchen operations, ensure proper food storage, and assist in preparing menu items according to recipes while supporting a positive team environment with a guest-first approach.

Qualifications

• One year experience as a line cook at a hotel or full-service restaurant.
• Ability to obtain Food Handling and Sanitation Certification within four weeks of hire.
• Commensurate or transfer skill set is of primary importance.
• Good attitude and work ethic to attain maximum operating efficiency while ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Breakdown work station and complete closing duties per standards.
• Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides.
• Inform Chef of shortages and communicate 86'd items to F&B service staff.

Core Responsibilities

• Breakdown work station and complete closing duties according to department standards:
  • Return all food items to the proper storage areas.
  • Rotate all returned products.
  • Wrap, cover, label, and date all items being put away.
  • Straighten up and organize all storage areas.
  • Clean up and wipe down food prep areas, reach-ins/walk-ins, and shelves.
  • Return all unused and clean utensils/equipment to the specified locations.
  • Ice down hot items from the steam table so they cool quickly.
  • Turn off all equipment not needed for the next shift.
  • Restock items that were depleted during the shift.
• Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides according to department standards.
• Inform the Chef/ Kitchen Mgr. of any shortages before the item runs out.
• Inform F&B service staff of 86'd items and the amount of available menu specials throughout the meal period.
