Job summary

IHOP Restaurants LLC in Columbia, SC is seeking a Line Cook to support the kitchen team by preparing menu items according to recipes, setting up stations, and upholding quality and timing standards in a fast-paced casual dining environment.

You will cross-train across stations, maintain cleanliness, and work with a friendly team. This role requires at least 1 year in casual dining, high school diploma preferred, and strong communication and physical stamina.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year’s experience in the Casual Restaurant industry, preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
• Current alcohol and food certifications that meet state requirements are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of team leadership and positive conflict resolution.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to withstand the physical demands a restaurant environment holds.

Responsibilities

• As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for completing all assigned prep work, setting up the cook’s station, maintaining product presentations, product quality, and cook time standards, and preparing all menu items according to the restaurant’s recipes, plate presentations, and specifications.
• Duties include the setup of equipment, verification of stock, the cleaning of cooking equipment, and preparing food items to specification while maintaining a clean work area.
• As a member of the Kitchen Team, you will cross-train and learn other stations and positions in the Kitchen.
