Job summary

Pura Vida Miami is seeking a capable cook to join our fast-paced kitchen in Washington DC. Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, stock stations, and ensure timely service while upholding quality and safety standards.

This role requires 1–2 years of experience in a food production facility or busy restaurant, a Food Handler certification, and strong teamwork, time management, and attention to detail. You must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a food production facility or fast-paced restaurant.
• Food Handler certification acquired by applicant.
• Strong knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Great time management, organizational and communication skills.
• Familiar with standard measurement systems and safety regulations.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards.
• Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies.
• Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and comply with health regs.
• Work with BOH team to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and proper storage.
• Cross-train across roles to support growth and team success.
• Support with any additional duties assigned.
