Job summary

Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a dedicated Line Cook to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen. You will multitask, follow safety and sanitation guidelines, and execute recipes with precision while maintaining a clean, organized station.

The position is part-time with shifts that require reliability and teamwork. You will collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure quality prep, proper food handling, and adherence to Walk-On’s standards in a lively environment.

Qualifications

• Continuous standing (up to 10+ hours)
• Exposure to heat (up to 1000 F or more)
• Ability to read recipes, prep sheets, charts in English, measure ingredients by weight and volume
• Able to operate slicer and BOH equipment
• Must be 18+ to operate slicer

Responsibilities

• Arrives to work on time, well-groomed in a clean uniform for every shift
• Always demonstrates a positive attitude, willing to help out where needed
• Follows all Walk-On’s safety, sanitation, and employee guidelines
• Follows day prep sheet and completes all duties assigned
• Sets up sani-buckets, maintains a clean work area during the shift
• Follows proper food rotation, dates and labels items
• Adheres to Walk-On’s recipes and procedures when preparing food items
• Practices clean-as-you-go to avoid cross contamination
• Assists with daily line checklist for shift readiness
• Can complete requirements of job without constant supervision
• Able to use scales for portioning
• Calibrates thermometers and scales for accuracy
• Follows HACCP guidelines for heating/cooling of foods
• Assists in receiving and storing deliveries
• Assist other employees to complete tasks
• Dumps trash and cardboard from kitchen
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must adhere to uniform guidelines
