Job summary

Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux in Lake Charles, LA is seeking dedicated Line Cooks for a part-time role in a high-volume kitchen. You will assist in preparing and plating items, following recipes, and maintaining clean work areas. Reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude are essential.

Responsibilities include processing prep sheets, HACCP compliance, and assisting teammates to ensure smooth service. Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

• Able to read recipes, prep sheets, and charts in English.
• Able to operate slicer and BOH equipment to prepare items as orders are registered.

Responsibilities

• Arrives to work on time, well-groomed in a clean uniform for every shift.
• Always demonstrates a positive attitude, willing to help out where needed.
• Follows Walk-On’s safety, sanitation, and employee guidelines.
• Follows day prep sheet and completes all duties assigned.
• Sets up sani-buckets, maintains a clean work area during the shift.
• Follows proper food rotation, dates and labels items.
• Adheres to Walk-On’s recipes and procedures when preparing foods.
• Practices clean-as-you-go to avoid cross contamination.
• Completes daily line checklist for shift readiness.
• Works without constant supervision.
• Calibrates bio-thermometers and scales for accurate results.
• Follows HACCP guidelines for heating/cooling of foods.
• Checks in, unloads, dates, rotates, and stores delivered products.
• Assists others to complete tasks during shift.
• Dumps trash and cardboard from kitchen to proper receptacles.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must adhere to uniform guidelines.
